From stage to screen, Coryse has built a remarkable career in the performing arts. With a strong foundation from the Manoel Theatre Academy of Dramatic Arts, her journey has taken her from theatre productions to film roles, scriptwriting, directing, and drama education. Her versatility and passion for performance continue to leave a lasting impact on the industry.
A Versatile Theatre Performer
Coryse’s theatre credits highlight her ability to take on diverse and challenging roles. She has played Nadia in Some Explicit Polaroids, Maria in West Side Story, Katarina in The Taming of the Shrew, Queen Vindicta in Snow White, Shirley in Kjaroskur and Leslie in Together Alone, as well as the Toi Toi baby series organised by the Manoel Theatre. These roles have demonstrated her dynamic range, from classic Shakespearean characters to modern and musical theatre. In addition to her acting, she has participated in theatre courses and performances overseas, enhancing her skills and exposure to different theatrical styles. She has also been a drama teacher with a number of theatre schools such as Stagecoach Malta, Helen O’Grady and Hoi Polloi.
Film and Media Appearances
Beyond the theatre, Coryse has also made a name for herself in the world of film and TV. She has appeared in major productions such as Gladiator, Revelation, and Helen of Troy, showcasing her ability to transition seamlessly between live performance and the demands of the camera. Her presence has also been seen in various television and radio advertisements.
Directing and Scriptwriting
In addition to acting, Coryse has taken on the role of director, bringing compelling narratives to life on stage. She directed Audacity at St James Cavalier and Glorious at the Manoel Theatre and co-directed Death of a Doornail at the same venue. Her talent extends to scriptwriting, with credits including With Friends like These (St James Cavalier), a production she also co-produced and performed in, and We Are Young! at the University of Malta.
